Originally self-released in 2015 as a The Mad Conductor Self-released effort, Space Rock Steady is a brilliantly eccentric fusion of conscious hip-hop, space rock, and traditional reggae. Born from the ashes of the legendary underground ska-punk band No-Cash, frontman MC Devlin teamed up with producer Dan McKinney to create an entirely unique sonic landscape. What makes this EP so incredibly cool is how seamlessly it marries the bouncy, laid-back groove of early Jamaican rocksteady with a gritty, psychedelic hip-hop flow. Influenced by the storytelling and sample-heavy production of Wu-Tang Clan, alongside the cosmic reggae-dub experimentation of Lee “Scratch” Perry, the project captures an otherworldly, late-night vibe. It is highly regarded because it pushes the absolute limits of genre-bending, keeping one foot in the underground DIY punk/reggae community while delivering razor-sharp lyricism and hypnotic rhythms on tracks like Space Rock Steady and Legendary Jams.

This Album was actually released as Both a CD EP in 2015 AND a 10″ vinyl EP in 2016, making it highly collectible for fans of physical underground music.
