Filthy White Trash – “Free Ride”

Originally released in 2005 by Pacific Northwest independent label Blackhouse Records (and later brought to digital platforms in 2015), Free Ride is a gritty, high-octane explosive shot of pure underground American punk rock delivered by Portland, Oregon’s own Filthy White Trash. It captures a wildly chaotic, raw, and hyper-aggressive energy that seamlessly bridges the gap between old-school late-’70s street punk and the unhinged, breakdown-heavy fury of early ’80s hardcore. The band channels immediate sonic comparisons and major influences from the snotty, confrontational vocal delivery of The Lewd, the driving, continuous rhythms of The Exploited, and the beer-soaked, working-class attitude of early Zeke, layering blistering guitar work over a pounding, relentless rhythm section.
