Windhand / Satan’s Satyrs

Two of Virginia’s heaviest underground forces joined forces for this massive collaborative effort. Windhand takes the first half, delivering two colossal, creeping tracks of psychedelic doom, anchored by haunting, melodic vocals. On the flip side, Satan’s Satyrs shifts the energy into overdrive with three tracks of fast, raw, fuzz-drenched garage punk and occult rock.

Released in early 2018 through Relapse Records, this project was made available across multiple formats, including CD, digital streaming, and various limited-edition colored vinyl pressings. What makes Windhand / Satan’s Satyrs Split so cool is how perfectly it contrasts two different corners of the heavy music scene—pairing glacial, atmospheric doom metal with high-energy, B-movie-inspired sleaze rock. It captures both bands at the peak of their powers, offering a dark, amp-worshipping sonic journey.
