Released in 2008 by Destiny Records and later distributed in the United States by Beanies Records, The Crime Has Come is a high-speed blast of old-school skatecore from the trans-Atlantic outfit Scheisse Minnelli. Formed by a blend of American and German musicians, the band hit the Berlin studio with producer Archi Alert (of Terrorgruppe and Inferno) to capture these sixteen lightning-fast tracks in a single two-day session with zero guitar overdubs. The result is a highly energetic fusion of 1980s West Coast hardcore and blazing thrash, heavily channeling the reckless velocity of RKL, the snotty aggression of the Circle Jerks, and the frantic, riff-heavy delivery of Verbal Abuse. Balancing lyrical themes of heavy skateboarding culture, substance-fueled madness, and anti-cop defiance, the album jumps seamlessly from chaotic anthems like Sin And Tonic to the breakneck urgency of When Skateboarding Was A Crime. It stands as an authentic, zero-filler document of modern high-octane punk rock played with a classic, vintage California attitude.
