Scurvy Dogs – “It’s All Gonna End”

Originally released on vinyl in 2003 by Inspired By Angst and subsequently on CD in 2004 via Rodent Popsicle Records, It’s All Gonna End is a blistering, high-velocity collection of old-school hardcore punk from the Bay Area’s Scurvy Dogs. Recorded and mixed at the legendary House of Faith studio by Bart Thurber, this debut full-length captures a frantic, uncompromising regional sound. Stylistically, the album is heavily indebted to the fast, snotty, and aggressive template laid down by early 1980s American hardcore icons like the Circle Jerks and Gang Green, blending breakneck tempos with chaotic guitar work and a vocal delivery that borders on pure desperation. Juggling a mix of cynical sociopolitical commentary and localized humor on tracks like Over The Hill And Into The Pit and Kiss My Talibuns, the band presents a completely unpolished, zero-filler effort. It stands out as an exceptional document of the early-2000s Northern California DIY thrash revival.
