The Exposed – “In the face of Resistance”

Hailing from Portsmouth, UK, the DIY punk crew The Exposed delivered a highly energetic and infectious collection of street-level anthems with their 2010 full-length studio release, In the Face of Resistance. Brought to the underground scene via Up & Atom Records, the album stands out for its vibrant songwriting, which perfectly balances gritty British street-punk urgency with sharp, infectious ska-punk rhythms. Anchored by the vocal presence of frontman Tony Corrales, tracks like RCP (Rebel City Punks) and Rebel City Rockers display a dynamic use of melody and massive, crowd-ready sing-alongs that completely avoid modern overproduction. Sonically, the band’s cross-pollinated delivery pulls immense inspiration from the iconic, bass-driven blueprint popularized by Rancid and the melodic, blue-collar punk structures of The Bouncing Souls, blending those West Coast sounds seamlessly with the foundational UK style of Stiff Little Fingers.
