Dead Ending – Self Title

Dead Ending is the 2012 self-titled debut EP from Chicago-based hardcore punk supergroup Dead Ending. Released by Alternative Tentacles, the physical 7-inch vinyl record introduced the band’s seasoned lineup, which includes members of Alkaline Trio, Articles of Faith, Noise By Numbers, and The Bomb.

The music bypasses modern production trends, delivering a brief, abrasive blast of classic 1980s-style hardcore punk heavily indebted to the early American templates of Minor Threat and Black Flag. Fronted by Vic Bondi with guitar work from Jeff Pezzati, Dead Ending anchors its fast tempos with raw, distorted chord progressions and urgent socio-political lyrics. The entire five-track session was captured over a single weekend at Million Yen Studios by producer Jeff Dean.
