Unholy Hymns is the third studio album by the dark folk-punk outfit The Bridge City Sinners, released in August 2021. Primarily co-released by Flail Records and distributed alongside partners like SBÄM and Crash Assailant Records, the album is a conceptual theatrical piece split into two distinct thematic books. It expands their traditional ” Appalachian deathfolk” foundation by incorporating a heavy classical influence, fully utilizing sweeping strings, dark ragtime piano, and aggressive banjo work behind frontwoman Libby Lux’s powerhouse vocal delivery.
